The 2026 season kicks off in six days with a rematch of Super Bowl LX, as the reigning champion Seattle Seahawks host the New England Patriots on Wednesday (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC).

Josh McDaniels returns as the Patriots' playcaller. On the other side of the field, Brian Fleury replaces Seattle's 2025 offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who became the Las Vegas Raiders' head coach this offseason, making him one of 18 new offensive playcallers this season.

Veteran head coaches Andy Reid (Kansas City Chiefs), Kyle Shanahan (San Francisco 49ers) and Sean McVay (Los Angeles Rams) continue to make the calls in their creative offensive systems, but Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton surprisingly handed over playcalling duties to offensive coordinator Davis Webb.

Meanwhile, some old faces have resurfaced in new places, including Mike McCarthy as Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Frank Reich calling plays for the New York Jets, Brian Daboll as OC with the Tennessee Titans and Mike McDaniel as the Los Angeles Chargers' OC.

That doesn't even account for first-time playcallers, such as Baltimore Ravens OC Declan Doyle, Philadelphia Eagles OC Sean Mannion and Washington Commanders OC David Blough.

With so many changes heading into 2026, here is a look at who is calling plays for all 32 teams, plus a key stat provided by ESPN Research.

AFC EAST

Buffalo Bills

Playcaller: Joe Brady, offensive coordinator

Experience: Brady has called plays for quarterback Josh Allen since mid-November 2023, going from interim offensive coordinator to offensive coordinator and now calling plays while taking over as head coach. He also called plays on the NFL level in his nearly two seasons with the Carolina Panthers.

What to know: While Brady has significant experience calling plays, he's a first-time head coach. He'll have the challenge of managing both jobs at once, while leading a team with high expectations. Success has been consistent with Brady calling plays for the Allen-led offense in Buffalo, as the Bills are second in points per game (29.6) and first in offensive EPA since 2024. A change, however, for the offense under Brady this season is that former tight ends coach Rob Boras is run game coordinator. -- Alaina Getzenberg

Key stat: The Bills designed runs on 59% of their first-down plays since Brady took over offensive playcalling duties in November 2023 (highest percentage in NFL) after designing rushes on 42% of first downs in Allen's career before Brady took over (lowest percentage in NFL). -- ESPN Research

Miami Dolphins

Playcaller: Bobby Slowik, offensive coordinator

Experience: This is Slowik's second season with the Dolphins after spending 2025 as the team's passing game coordinator. He previously spent two seasons as the Houston Texans' offensive coordinator.

What to know: The Dolphins' poor passing game in 2025 could be attributed to a decline in quarterback play, an injury to WR Tyreek Hill and lack of legitimate options once Hill went down. Slowik's first season in Houston coincided with QB C.J. Stroud's rookie season, when Stroud was named AP Rookie of the Year and the Texans finished seventh in passing yards. The production tapered off the following season and the Texans finished 22nd in total yards. Slowik will tailor this Dolphins offense around running back De'Von Achane and quarterback Malik Willis -- who offers a more dynamic skill set than any quarterback he has ever worked with. -- Marcel Louis-Jacques

Key stat: The Dolphins recorded the NFL's second-highest screen attempt percentage (14%) last season with Slowik as senior passing game coordinator. -- ESPN Research

New England Patriots

Playcaller: Josh McDaniels, offensive coordinator

Experience: In his 25th NFL season and 20th with the Patriots, McDaniels enters his 15th year as the team's offensive coordinator (three different stints). McDaniels turned 50 on April 22.

What to know: One of the themes of training camp has been QB Drake Maye taking more ownership of the offense because it's his second year in McDaniels' system. McDaniels leads an experienced offensive staff that includes former NFL head coaches and/or coordinators in Doug Marrone (offensive line), Thomas Brown (tight ends/passing game coordinator) and Todd Downing (wide receivers). -- Mike Reiss

Key stat: The Patriots had the second-highest average pass distance in the NFL last season (8.7), the highest rate for a McDaniels-led offense since 2017 (8.8 with Patriots). -- ESPN Research

New York Jets

Playcaller: Frank Reich, offensive coordinator

Experience: It's his first season with the Jets, but Reich is a seasoned playcaller -- having handled the responsibility for the Chargers, Colts and Panthers.

What to know: It'll be interesting to see if Reich, 64, back in the league after a two-year hiatus, has added any wrinkles to his system. His last two seasons (2023-24 in Carolina) weren't good. His biggest challenge is helping quarterback Geno Smith reduce his interceptions. He will lean into the running game and will use more 12 personnel (1 RB, 2 WR, 2 TE) than usual. The Jets finished 29th in scoring, their 10th straight season in the bottom third. Things can only go up, right? -- Rich Cimini

Key stat: The Colts had five receivers in pass routes on 75% of their plays in Reich's tenure as head coach (2018-22), the second-highest percentage in the NFL in that span behind only the Chiefs (77%), per NFL Next Gen Stats. -- ESPN Research

AFC NORTH

Baltimore Ravens

Playcaller: Declan Doyle, offensive coordinator

Experience: Doyle is calling plays for the first time of his eight-year NFL career. He was the offensive coordinator last season for the Chicago Bears, but head coach Ben Johnson called the plays. Doyle was previously the tight ends coach with the Denver Broncos (2023-24) and an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints (2019-22).

What to know: Doyle, who turned 30 in March, is the youngest playcaller in the league. The players have praised Doyle's system for its details. Quarterback Lamar Jackson said Doyle has been "like a wizard." Wide receiver Zay Flowers has called him "a genius." One of the biggest changes has been putting Jackson under center after he lined up in the pistol for 95% of his NFL career. Doyle has been tough on the two-time NFL Most Valuable Player, from his footwork to his reads. "He's grading me like I'm a rookie or something," Jackson said. "He's always on me. Key stat: With Doyle as offensive coordinator, Bears QB Caleb Williams had the second-most pass attempts outside the pocket last season (128), trailing Bo Nix (133). -- ESPN Research

Cincinnati Bengals

Playcaller: Zac Taylor, head coach

Experience: Taylor is entering his eighth year as the Bengals' head coach. He has been the playcaller for all eight seasons.

What to know: Taylor's playcalling has come under fire over the years. But whether it was Brian Callahan or Dan Pitcher serving as offensive coordinator, Taylor has held onto the reins. This season, Taylor is looking for new ways to create a more explosive offense, especially with Joe Burrow back under center. Even with Burrow out for nine games last season, Cincinnati finished 13th in points per drive. But the big plays have been lacking, which is a focal point for a unit that features Burrow, wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins and running back Chase Brown. -- Ben Baby

Cleveland Browns

Playcaller: Todd Monken, head coach

Experience: Monken, 60, is a first-time NFL head coach getting his opportunity in Cleveland after three seasons as the Ravens' offensive coordinator. Before that, Monken spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator at the University of Georgia, winning back-to-back national championships. His previous playcalling experience in the NFL includes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2016-18).

What to know: Monken was the architect of one of the league's most explosive offenses during his time in Baltimore. Lamar Jackson was named NFL MVP in his first season with Monken in 2023, and the Ravens finished as the league's No. 1 offense for the first time in their history in 2024. The offense in Cleveland will look different with a young and unproven core, along with the perennial quarterback question, but Monken has a reputation for melding his scheme to his players' talents. -- Daniel Oyefusi

Key stat: In Monken's three seasons as Ravens OC (2023-25), Baltimore had the highest designed rush percentage in the NFL (46%). -- ESPN Research

Pittsburgh Steelers

Playcaller: Mike McCarthy, head coach

Experience: Though McCarthy has been his team's primary playcaller throughout the bulk of 18 years as a head coach, he started out his tenure in Dallas assigning those duties to offensive coordinator Kellen Moore from 2020 to 2022. McCarthy resumed calling plays in 2023. He also briefly relinquished those responsibilities with the Packers in 2015 when he handed them over to associate head coach Tom Clements in the offseason. McCarthy, though, took the duty back by mid-December after a 2-4 stretch.

What to know: McCarthy was hired to mold the Steelers' quarterback of the future and reinvigorate a middling offense. His West Coast style is a favorite of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but McCarthy has to adapt it to best fit Rodgers at a point in his career in which the 42-year-old quarterback prioritizes getting the ball out quickly and avoiding contact. -- Brooke Pryor

Key stat: In McCarthy's five seasons as Cowboys head coach (2020-24), Dallas ran slant routes on 6.8% of its plays, the second-highest rate in the NFL, per ESPN Analytics/NFL Next Gen Stats. -- ESPN Research

AFC SOUTH

Houston Texans

Playcaller: Nick Caley, offensive coordinator

Experience: This is Caley's second year in Houston after he took over for Bobby Slowik.

What to know: Houston ranked 18th in total offense (327 yards per game) and 16th in offensive points per game (21.9) last season. Caley knows a large portion of Houston's Super Bowl hopes falls on his unit and quarterback C.J. Stroud. Caley said during training camp that "I want to give ourselves an opportunity to play our best football when it matters the most." He knows his harshest critique will be in the playoffs, where Houston has stalled in three straight seasons. -- DJ Bien-Aime

Key stat: The Texans had three or more wide receivers on the field on 70% of their plays last season, the highest rate in the NFL, per NFL Next Gen Stats. -- ESPN Research

Indianapolis Colts

Playcaller: Shane Steichen, head coach

Experience: Steichen enters his fourth season as head coach and has established himself as one of the more respected playcallers in the game. He previously called plays for the Chargers and Eagles.

What to know: Steichen hasn't had quarterback consistency in his years in Indy, but he joined forces with QB Daniel Jones last season to demonstrate what might be possible with a higher level of QB play. The Colts had, by far, their most efficient offense and highest-scoring offense under Steichen in 2025. Similarly, yards per play have increased each year of Steichen's tenure, topping out at 5.8 last season. Jones' season-ending injury in December led to an abrupt downturn in production, but the Colts hope a full season of Steichen and Jones can allow the offense to flourish again. -- Stephen Holder

Key stat: Under Steichen (since 2023), the Colts have utilized play-action on 29.1% of dropbacks, the second-highest rate in the NFL (Lions, 29.4%). -- ESPN Research

Jacksonville Jaguars

Playcaller: Liam Coen, head coach

Experience: This will be Coen's third season as an NFL playcaller. He called plays for the Buccaneers as the OC in 2024 before getting hired in Jacksonville in 2025.

What to know: One season after helping Baker Mayfield post the best season of his career, Coen turned Trevor Lawrence into an MVP contender (29 passing TDs, nine rushing TDs, five game-winning drives). Coen had Lawrence and the offense rolling in the second half of 2025 as they finished the season on an 8-0 run. In that span, they led the NFL in scoring (32.5 points per game), were third in red zone touchdown percentage (70.3) and Lawrence threw 19 TD passes -- only Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford had more (21) in that stretch. -- Michael DiRocco

Key stat: The Jaguars used 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) at the eighth-highest rate in the NFL last season (65% of plays) and had the second-most plays that gained 10-plus yards using 11 personnel (167), trailing only the Cowboys (188), per NFL Next Gen Stats. -- ESPN Research

Tennessee Titans

Playcaller: Brian Daboll, offensive coordinator

Experience: This will be Daboll's 13th season calling plays, his first doing so for the Titans. Daboll came to Tennessee after serving as the Giants' head coach from 2022 to Week 10 last season.

What to know: Daboll's primary task is getting the most out of 2025 No. 1 pick Cam Ward. His past experience with quarterbacks such as Josh Allen, Daniel Jones and Jaxson Dart gives Daboll a catalog to pull from. Daboll is focusing on situational awareness for Ward, specifically in two-minute, red zone and third-down situations. Success with Ward and the Titans' offense could lead to a second head coaching opportunity for Daboll. -- Turron Davenport

Key stat: In Daboll's three-plus seasons as Giants head coach (2022-25), the Giants used 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) at the sixth-highest rate in the NFL (68% of plays). Last season, the Titans used 11 personnel at the highest rate in the NFL (70%) but averaged 4.5 yards per play with 11 personnel, second fewest in the NFL (Jets, 4.3), per NFL Next Gen Stats. -- ESPN Research

AFC WEST

Denver Broncos

Playcaller: Davis Webb, offensive coordinator

Experience: Few people had "Sean Payton surrenders playcalling duties" on their Broncos bingo card when the offseason began, but he selected Webb for the job. The 31-year-old was playing in the NFL four seasons ago and was hired by Payton as the Broncos' QB coach to start Webb's post-playing coaching career in 2023.

What to know: Webb has been a key figure in quarterback Bo Nix's development and has been tasked with improving the efficiency of the offense. The main tasks are getting Nix to the line of scrimmage with more time on the play clock, pumping up the run game's impact and improving Nix's downfield accuracy. Payton said Webb has added a few tweaks to the Payton playbook, and the operation has been smooth in the preseason. But there are those in the league who are intrigued to see how the high-intensity Payton, used to calling plays for so long, interacts with Webb on regular-season game days. -- Jeff Legwold

Key stat: In Webb's first season as pass game coordinator, the Broncos ranked second in percentage of dropbacks outside the pocket (20.8%), a 4.1% increase from 2024. -- ESPN Research

Kansas City Chiefs

Playcaller: Andy Reid, head coach

Experience: As the oldest coach in the league, this will be Reid's 28th consecutive season as his team's offensive playcaller -- 14 with the Eagles and 14 with the Chiefs. He is once again assisted by offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who held the role from 2018 to 2022, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is entering his 10th season.

What to know: Much of the challenge this season for Reid is to find the appropriate balance when it comes to blending the running game with the passing attack. Reid has to utilize running back Kenneth Walker III as much as possible to ease the burden on Mahomes. In camp, the Chiefs have put a priority on returning to an offense based on plays starting under center, a clear change from last season. Reid must weaponize play-action passes -- with the threat of Walker -- to create easier intermediate and deep passes for Mahomes and his collection of receivers, most notably Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton. -- Nate Taylor

Key stat: The Chiefs have ranked inside the top six in screen rate and dropbacks outside the pocket in each of the past three seasons. Last season, 15% of the Chiefs' pass attempts were screens, most in the NFL. -- ESPN Research

Las Vegas Raiders

Playcaller: Klint Kubiak, head coach

Experience: This will be Kubiak's first season as a head coach but his fourth stint as an offensive playcaller. He won a Super Bowl as the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks last season. Before that, he was an offensive coordinator for the Saints and Minnesota Vikings.

What to know: The Seahawks' offense took a major step forward under Kubiak. Seattle ranked third in points (28.4 per game) and eighth in total yards (351.4) in 2025 after ranking 18th and 14th in those categories in the previous season under former offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. Kubiak, son of former Broncos coach Gary Kubiak, hails from the Shanahan coaching tree and runs his version of the West Coast offense. He likes to use heavy personnel groupings such as 12 personnel (1 RB, 2 WR, 2 TE) and 21 personnel (2 RB, 1 TE, 2 WR). By doing so, he forced opponents to stop the run, creating mismatches and explosive plays in the passing game. -- Ryan McFadden

Key stat: Kubiak's offenses stretch the defense horizontally, ranking top-five in dropbacks outside the pocket and percentage of running plays outside the tackle box in each of the past two seasons (2024 Saints, 2025 Seahawks). -- ESPN Research

Los Angeles Chargers

Playcaller: Mike McDaniel, offensive coordinator

Experience: This will be McDaniel's second stint as an offensive coordinator after he held this role in San Francisco in 2021. He called plays the past four seasons as the Dolphins' head coach.

What to know: In Miami, McDaniel changed the trajectory of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's career. Coaching him to his lone Pro Bowl and the best seasons of his career after he struggled in his first two years to live up to the expectations of being the No. 5 pick in the 2020 draft. McDaniel calls quarterback Justin Herbert the most talented quarterback he has ever worked with and said receivers can expect career highs across the board, with an offense that makes life easy for Herbert. -- Kris Rhim

Key stat: In McDaniel's four seasons with the Dolphins, Miami ranked first in play-action rate (30%), first in percentage of rushes outside the tackles (34%), second in motion rate (73% per ESPN Analytics/NFL Next Gen Stats) and third in screen rate (13%). -- ESPN Research

NFC EAST

Dallas Cowboys

Playcaller: Brian Schottenheimer, head coach

Experience: Schottenheimer is in his 27th year in the NFL, second as the Cowboys' head coach, and second as the playcaller. He has called plays for three other franchise -- Jets, Rams and Seahawks.

What to know: Schottenheimer's first season calling the plays went exceedingly well, with the Cowboys averaging 391.9 yards and 29.7 points per game. Now the key is to stay ahead of the curve with opposing teams getting more of a book on what he likes to do. He brought more shifts and motions to the offense so things were not static, and QB Dak Prescott responded with a terrific season. One area of improvement: red zone. The Cowboys were 16th in touchdown percentage inside the 20 in 2025. -- Todd Archer

Key stat: Since Schottenheimer became the full-time OC in 2024 (and HC in 2025), the Cowboys' offense has played at the second-fastest tempo in the NFL (27.5 seconds in time of possession per play), behind only the Saints (27.5). -- ESPN Research

New York Giants

Playcaller: Matt Nagy, offensive coordinator

Experience: Nagy is in his first season with the Giants after spending the past three years as offensive coordinator for the Chiefs. He has previous playcalling experience from his time as head coach of the Bears, when he called plays during part of his tenure.

What to know: Nagy is putting together an offense with elements from Kansas City and Andy Reid's West Coast scheme along with senior offensive assistant Greg Roman's run-game concepts and quarterback coach Brian Callahan's input. Nobody knows exactly what to expect, aside from Nagy catering to quarterback Jaxson Dart's strengths. "I would just say wait and see. ... I think it's going to be fun," Nagy said. "We need to be able to be complementary, but we're very optimistic on how this thing's going to go." -- Jordan Raanan

Key stat: Over the past three seasons while the OC in Kansas City, Nagy's Chiefs threw to a screen route on 15.2% of passing plays, the highest rate in the NFL. In 2025, the Giants threw to a screen route on 9.7% of pass attempts, ranking 13th. -- ESPN Research

Philadelphia Eagles

Playcaller: Sean Mannion, offensive coordinator

Experience: This is Mannion's third year as a coach and first as a playcaller. He served as Green Bay's quarterbacks coach in 2025.

What to know: Mannion is implementing a brand-new scheme influenced by the likes of Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan and Matt LaFleur. It features heavy play-action, under center and throws over the middle of the field -- elements the Eagles have not leaned into heavily with Jalen Hurts at quarterback. Mannion played QB in the league from 2015 to 2023. He has drawn strong reviews since coming over to Philadelphia, with left tackle Jordan Mailata labeling him an "evil genius." -- Tim McManus

Key stat: While Mannion was the quarterbacks coach of the Packers in 2025, Green Bay used max protection (seven-plus blockers) on 12.9% of dropbacks, ranking fourth, per NFL Next Gen Stats. The Eagles did so on only 7.5% of dropbacks (24th). -- ESPN Research

Washington Commanders

Playcaller: David Blough, offensive coordinator

Experience: This is Blough's first year as the coordinator after spending two seasons as the assistant quarterbacks coach.

What to know: Blough spent one year in Minnesota learning coach Kevin O'Connell's offense and was on Detroit's practice squad in 2023 under coordinator Ben Johnson. Blough was influenced by Johnson in particular and will use a lot of play-action passes, more snaps from under center and far less no-huddle than Washington used under Kliff Kingsbury the past two years. They will retain some elements of Kingsbury's system -- some run-pass option. Blough also could mimic Johnson when it comes to trickery and creativity. -- John Keim

Key stat: Last season (with Blough as assistant quarterbacks coach and Kingsbury as offensive coordinator), the Commanders rushed on 61.4% of their red zone plays, the highest rate in the NFL. -- ESPN Research

NFC NORTH

Chicago Bears

Playcaller: Ben Johnson, head coach

Experience: The 2026 season will mark Johnson's fifth as an offensive playcaller in the NFL. He called plays as Detroit's offensive coordinator from 2022 to 2024 and has the same responsibility as the Bears' head coach.

What to know: Johnson is one of a few head coaches in the NFL who installs his own run game, a unit that ranked third (144.5 yards per game) during his inaugural season in Chicago. QB Caleb Williams set the Bears' single-season passing record (3,942 yards) in his first year working with Johnson, which coincided with significant operational changes on offense. In 2025, Williams was under center at the fifth-highest rate in the NFL (49%), and the offense ranked No. 2 in play-action usage (32%) and 10th in motion before or at the snap (65%). -- Courtney Cronin

Key stat: In Johnson's first season in Chicago, the Bears used play-action on 31.7% of dropbacks, second in the NFL only to the Rams (35.5%). -- ESPN Research

Detroit Lions

Playcaller: Drew Petzing, offensive coordinator

Experience: Petzing enters his first season as offensive coordinator in Detroit but has 14 years of NFL coaching experience with the Cardinals, Browns, and Vikings. He has spent more than 10 years coaching nearly every position on offense.

What to know: Petzing, 39, spent the past three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals but is leaving a strong first impression in Detroit after replacing John Morton -- who was fired after one season in the role. He is excited to take over a top-five offense with strong playmakers, such as Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs, but underachieved at 9-8 and failed to make the postseason. His vision is for the offense to be physical. "It needs to be tough, it needs to be difficult to defend, and it needs to be multiple at times," Petzing said Aug. 6. "It's not going to all run through one person, it's not going to run through one personnel, it's going to change week to week. I think that's important in this league." -- Eric Woodyard

Key stat: From 2023 to 2025 with Petzing as OC, the Cardinals ranked 21st in snaps under center (29%) and 30th in use of motion (45%). Since 2021 (Goff's first year in Detroit), the Loins rank second in snaps under center (48%) and fifth in use of motion (67%), per ESPN Analytics/NFL Next Gen Stats -- ESPN Research

Green Bay Packers

Playcaller: Matt LaFleur, head coach

Experience: LaFleur has called the offensive plays during his time as Packers coach, beginning in 2019. Previously, he had only one season of NFL playcalling experience, with the Titans in 2018.

What to know: LaFleur faced a significant challenge as a playercaller last season because of the Packers' protection issues. Jordan Love was pressured on 29% of his pass plays, according to ESPN Research. That was the highest rate of any Packers quarterback since 2018. And it's not like LaFleur could hang his hat on the run game because the Packers ranked 19th in the league in run block win rate. It's no wonder LaFleur said this offseason that he planned to strip down the offense and rebuild it from scratch. -- Rob Demovsky

Key stat: The Packers had the fourth-highest designed rush percentage in the NFL last season (44%) and were 24th in yards per rush (4.1). -- ESPN Research

Minnesota Vikings

Playcaller: Kevin O'Connell, head coach

Experience: O'Connell has called the Vikings' plays in every season since he arrived as head coach in 2022.

What to know: O'Connell has earned a reputation as one of the NFL's craftiest playcallers. Knowledgeable observers are impressed when they realize, in retrospect, how he builds the stage for big plays from one part of a game to another, or one week to another. He has faced criticism for his preference to throw in short-yardage situations; the Vikings have the highest designed pass rate (57.3%) on third-and-2 or shorter during his tenure. But he called designed runs more often in 2025, in short-yardage and overall, and the belief is he will continue to do so. -- Kevin Seifert

Key stat: Since 2022, when O'Connell became Vikings head coach, Minnesota has the third-lowest shotgun snap percentage in the NFL (53%). During Kyler Murray's career in Arizona, the Cardinals were in shotgun 85% of the time, per NFL Next Gen Stats. -- ESPN Research

NFC SOUTH

Atlanta Falcons

Playcaller: Tommy Rees, offensive coordinator

Experience: Rees called plays at Notre Dame for three seasons and at Alabama for a season prior to that. Last season, Rees took over playcalling duties for the Browns in Week 10.

What to know: Rees joined former Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski this past offseason with the Falcons. Zach Robinson had been the Falcons' offensive coordinator and playcaller under head coach Raheem Morris the previous two seasons. Robinson's offense featured the pistol formation more than any other team in the NFL. This season, Rees has said Atlanta quarterbacks will work much more often under center and the play-action passing game will be showcased. The Falcons also plan to run more of a gap scheme in the rushing game rather than wide zone, which is what running back Bijan Robinson has the most experience in. -- Marc Raimondi

Carolina Panthers

Playcaller: Brad Idzik, offensive coordinator

Experience: Idzik has helped scheme the plays in coach Dave Canales' offense in each of the previous two seasons, but now he will cook up the playcalls after his longtime boss handed over the responsibilities this offseason. Idzik is a first-time playcaller, but he is a third-generation NFL decision-maker, as his father, John Idzik Jr., is the former general manager of the Jets, and his grandfather, John Sr., was an offensive coordinator in the 1970s for the Eagles.

What to know: Idzik, 34, is among the league's youngest coordinators. A former wide receivers coach who has ties to several noted NFL coaching minds, Idzik will lean on new associate head coach Darrell Bevell -- a longtime NFL playcaller -- as he transitions to a bigger role. Idzik has worked with Panthers quarterback Bryce Young for two years, and the pair has developed a relationship that has made communication easier. Idzik taking over playcalling has opened up Canales to oversee the entire production in Carolina. -- Mike Kaye

Key stat: The Panthers led the NFL in fourth-down conversions with 27 last season. They also scored a league-high 129 points on drives with a fourth-down conversion, 26 more than any other team (Rams, 103). -- ESPN Research

New Orleans Saints

Playcaller: Kellen Moore, head coach

Experience: This is Moore's second year calling plays as a head coach, but he has called plays since his coordinator days with the Cowboys beginning in 2019.

What to know: This is Moore's first full season with quarterback Tyler Shough as the Saints' starter. They ended the 2025 season together on a high note after Shough took over for Spencer Rattler midseason. Their second season together will feature a number of new offensive players, including tight end Noah Fant, guard David Edwards, wide receiver Jordyn Tyson and running back Travis Etienne Jr. -- Katherine Terrell

Key stat: The Saints had the fifth-highest shotgun percentage in the NFL last season (78%) and the fifth-highest rate of motion before or at the snap (69%). New Orleans ran 276 plays that were both out of the shotgun and used motion, 43 more than any other team (49ers, 233), per ESPN Analytics/NFL Next Gen Stats. -- ESPN Research

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Playcaller: Zac Robinson, offensive coordinator

Experience: This is Robinson's first year with the Bucs after two seasons calling plays as the Falcons' offensive coordinator. Prior to that, he spent five seasons as an assistant quarterbacks coach, assistant wide receivers coach and pass game coordinator/quarterbacks coach under Sean McVay with the Rams.

What to know: The Bucs are hoping to recapture the magic of their 2024 season when Baker Mayfield and Liam Coen's offense averaged 30 points per game. After taking a few steps back last season and losing the franchise's all-time-leading scorer, Mike Evans, in free agency, the Bucs brought in Coen's best friend, Robinson. Now that they're not coaching division rivals, they talk daily. Still, Robinson has his own offensive wrinkles, and wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. said it was about 50/50 carryover vs. new scheme. -- Jenna Laine

Arizona Cardinals

Playcaller: Mike LaFleur, head coach

Experience: LaFleur is in his first year as the Cardinals' head coach after spending three years as the non-playcalling offensive coordinator with the Rams. He last called plays on a regular basis as the Jets' OC in 2021 and 2022.

What to know: LaFleur spent three years as an apprentice to one of the best playcallers in football in Sean McVay and learned quite a bit from doing it as the Jets' OC for a couple of seasons, but in Arizona he has potentially one of the best groups of skill players in the NFL in tight end Trey McBride, receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson and running back Jeremiyah Love. How much he has learned from his past two jobs and how LaFleur balances calling plays with being a head coach will dictate Arizona's season. -- Josh Weinfuss

Los Angeles Rams

Playcaller: Sean McVay, head coach

Experience: McVay is entering his 10th season as head coach of the Rams and has been calling plays since he was hired in Los Angeles. In McVay's first nine seasons, the Rams have made seven playoff appearances and played in two Super Bowls, including a victory in Super Bowl LVI.

What to know: Before he was named the Rams' head coach, McVay called plays for two years in Washington while coaching under Jay Gruden. When the Rams won the Super Bowl during the 2021 season -- and for most of McVay's time in Los Angeles -- they played primarily in 11 personnel (1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE). Last season, injuries forced a shift to 13 personnel (1 RB, 1 WR, 3 TE). -- Sarah Barshop

Key stat: The Rams ran more plays last season in 13 personnel than any other team since 2007 (when this data became available). They also ran twice as many of those plays as any other team last season, despite not running them at all in Weeks 1-5, per NFL Next Gen Stats. -- ESPN Research

San Francisco 49ers

Playcaller: Kyle Shanahan, head coach

Experience: Shanahan is entering his 10th season in San Francisco and has called the plays in each of them. Before that, he served as offensive coordinator and primary playcaller for nine seasons at stops with the Texans, Commanders, Browns and Falcons.

What to know: As Shanahan recovers from an offseason car accident, offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak has stepped forward in his place. But Shanahan is expected to return to his usual duties when the regular season begins. San Francisco brings eight starters back from an offense that finished last season seventh in the NFL in yards per game (351.4), ninth in points per game (25.3) and eighth in offensive expected points added (72.59). -- Nick Wagoner

Seattle Seahawks

Playcaller: Brian Fleury, offensive coordinator

Experience: This is Fleury's first season in Seattle and his first offensive coordinator job. He spent the past seven seasons with the 49ers, where he initially worked with the defense before becoming San Francisco's tight ends coach and run game coordinator.

What to know: Among the reasons coach Mike Macdonald was drawn to Fleury despite his lack of playcalling experience was how well versed he is in the style of West Coast offense Seattle's coach wants to run. Macdonald did not want to start over schematically after 2025 OC Klint Kubiak was hired as head coach of the Raiders. Instead, Fleury is installing a scheme that's largely similar to Kubiak's but with some elements of Kyle Shanahan's system in San Francisco. Among them: more pre-snap movement -- the 49ers have used motion before or at the snap more frequently than all but two teams over the past nine seasons -- and more plays with two running backs. -- Brady Henderson
