Will the Jaguars challenge the Miami Dolphins? 🐬 vs 🐆

I’m going to be a contrarian on this one. In my opinion, the Jacksonville Jaguars are a much tougher matchup than what most believe. Here’s why!

Trevor Lawrence was much better than the consensus view, pre injury in 2023. Jaguars have already had great receiving options in Evan Engram Christian Kirk (remember that last year he was paid like a top 10 receiver 👀) and Calvin Ridley (now with the Titans). They add one of my favorites in the draft, Brian Thomas Jr! BTJ is one of the best deep ball receivers that I’ve seen which should pair well with Trevor Lawrence’s play style. The guy loves using that big arm! Sometimes getting himself in big trouble 👿

Let’s add in the phenom Travis Etienne! The guy is fantastic at finding a way to get YAC on receptions. He has a feel for the defense in a rare way but mostly on the outside run. Remember that phrase “outside run”.

The Miami Dolphins defense is very new. Our edge rushers are coming back from injury or very young. Chop Robinson is one to keep your eye on because if he can’t set the edge, Etienne will target him on those outside runs!

We also might be without our star CB, Jalen Ramsey 👀 The corners backing him up have high promise but also are very young. Ethen Bonner and Storm Duck have flashed major play ability on go balls, but there are no guarantees that either one of the UDFA’s can stop blue chip WR’s from burning them. We hope that Kendall Fuller is ready for the workload as well. 🙏

Here’s the positive! The Dolphins have a far superior offense to the Jags! Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert, and De’Von Achane are now accompanied by Jonnu Smith, Malik Washington, a better version of Tanner Conner/Julian Hill, and our new inside runner Jaylen Wright. There is very little doubt that this Fins offense can hang with anyone. The only reservation is simply seeing it play out against good defense on a consistent bases. 🚀

Thankfully, the Jaguars do not have a good secondary! They will most likely operate a bend not break defense and against this Dolphins track star roster, teams like that break a whole lot! ⛓️‍💥
