Can the Dolphins beat the Patriots?

Could we have built in the trenches better? Could we have less injury prone players? Could we have drafted players that have a higher potential of learning the playbook? Of course! Chris Grier should be fired for these failings! This does not mean that things can’t get better ❤️‍🩹

Keep in mind that the Defensive tackles have been pretty bad against the run so far. However, Anthony Weavers defense demands a heavy rotation there. Which means that guys like Brandon Pili, Deshawn Hand and Bonito Jones get more snaps than last year… By a LOT! Remember, Wilkins and Seiler took around 80% snap share last year. So these changes to the defensive line will take time to settle into the proper snap share for all of these guys.

I think we are finally seeing the limitations of Kader Kohou. 😔 Nik Needham being elevated this week is telling. I think they let these guys battle it out for that spot in game. The nickel CB cannot let up the way Kohou has!

I’ve been high on Erik Ezukanma and Malik Washington and in another system they might be highly productive. There is no comparison to them and what Odell Beckham Jr. brings to the table! OBJ can not only come in for Hill or Waddle, he is capable of taking a game on his shoulders! Something the team has been missing for years in a wide receiver 3.

Jaelen Phillips injury is tragic. Very few players I root for harder, especially post Achilles injury. Hell, I bought the dudes jersey before he played 1 NFL game! I will not sell you hopium on the edge. Yes, I’m excited to see Mo Kamara and hopefully Chop step up. But it will not be the same without my guy JP.

Armstead at Left tackle and Fuller as the Cornerback 2 are major upgrades for the team. The run & pass block will improve as well as the defensive secondary. Jordan Poyer will miss the game with a shin injury but honestly… I don’t think Marcus Maye is much of a fall off if any at this point in JPo’s career.

And of course the big one, Tyler Huntley has a game and another week under his belt as a Miami Dolphin. McDaniel has the same and hopefully seeing that the offense was much improved at the end on last weeks game, he should recognize his flaws with play calling thus far. Huntley has the potential, but you have to let him throw over the middle more! Everything can open up with simple adjustments.

Last but not least, Raheem Mostert is back! The Dolphins should establish a serious run against this riddled Patriots defense. I love Achane but he should not have been used to bully the inside run. That’s just not him! In fact, Jaylen Wright should have been used as the de facto RB1 in place of Mostert. Achane is complimentary at his best. Maybe Raheem being back will shake this up in Mcdaniels very confused brain 🧠

So to answer the question, can the Dolphins beat the Patriots? They should demolish them! But what should be does not equate to what tends to be. What the Dolphins have done so far in 2024 tends to be to lose. Until proven otherwise, the Miami Dolphins are a waisted stacked team

One thing is for sure for me, if they lose against the Patriots I’m rooting for a full blown tank 😂 🤷‍♂️
